To Boldly Go.

Streaming services the final frontier, this is the series of Star Trek we've been waiting for. Their new mission...to surprise and inspire you, with there continuing story arc that will not only engross your attention, but tantalize every edge of your imagination.

USS Discovery

Ten years before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise, a fresh young crew, set out to explore new worlds and new lifeforms as one Starfleet officer learns to understand her life on the Federation Starship Discovery. This show dives deep into the lore of the Star Trek universe and goes deeper into an event long talked about but never before shown in Star Trek shows or movies.

From left to right (Doug Jones as Saru, Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham, Jason Isaacs as Captain Gabriel Lorca)

I'm going to start with my feeling on the show. I am a lifelong fan of Star Trek. Have been, always will be. I have watched every episode of every series including every movie and it surprised me to say but this was by far my favorite series to date. For me this will get a 12 out of 10. Sorry for breaking the mold but I feel that strongly about it.

Commander Michael Burnham

Now the reasons why. First they picked a unique way to make a new generation of Star Trek, this show flips the formula on its head and provides you with a series wide story arc instead of the traditional episodic formula. They also give you a new perspective by making the focus of the show around the second in command instead of the captain, and in doing so they are able to humanize the show and make it easier to relate to.

Michael and Klingon

They go into detail and make magical use of today's graphics and cgi to bring to life new aspects of old mainstays in a way that blew my mind. They brought a new magic to an old franchise and sparked an excitement about a beloved show and I felt like a kid again. During the opening credits the music the intro brought a tear to my eye. Thank you CBS for bringing the magic back to a show that I have had so much love for. I can't wait to see the further episodes and missions this intrepid crew goes on and what other new lights you will shine on it. As always Nerds we you on the other side. Live long and prosper.
